Ice Hotel in Quebec

Okay, this is a place which doesn't necessarily appeal to me as I'm a sun worshipper, but to others a night's stay at the Ice Hotel near Quebec is just the ticket.

Located just 30 minutes east of Quebec City, The Ice Hotel includes 36 rooms and theme suites, an ice chapel, exhibit rooms and art galleries, and, of course, a bar. Oh, and did I mention it's made out of ice? The walls, the bed, all ice. Yes, you do have a sleeping bag on top of the ice bed to keep you warm. Of course, if you're the type who gets up to use the bathroom at night, you will feel the chill, as the temperature in your room will be somewhere between 23 degrees and 26.6 degrees F. That's pretty cold.

But, if you're up to the challenge, a stay at the Ice Hotel will give you bragging rights with your friends, as not many people can claim to have slept in an ice hotel.

You'll also have the opportunity to take part in some of the on-site activities the hotel offers, such as dog sledding, helicopter tours of Quebec City, ice fishing, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.

You'll also get to experience Quebec City in Quebec, Canada, which is a charming city and reminiscent of cities in Europe. They're also celebrating the city's 400th anniversary in 2008, so you may find special events city-wide during 2008.

Anyway, here's a YouTube video I found about The Ice Hotel. Who knows, maybe you'll be up for he challenge of a night on ice. You can email them for more information at information@icehotel-canada.com
