Los Angeles Ski Expo
If you live in the Los Angeles area and are a skier, you really have to make it to the Los Angeles Convention Center for the Los Angeles Ski Show and Snowboard Expo from November 29 to December 2, 2007.
If you've been to different expos, such as travel expos or home improvement expos, you can sometimes come away with the feeling that you've wasted an afternoon. But, this Expo really looks like it has some teeth! The admission is $17, which automatically pays for itself by allowing you to redeem your admission ticket with a free lift ticket at Bear Mountain or Snow Summit. You have some choices with your free lift ticket: You can choose one free lift ticket good on any day until Dec. 21, or a few other options, including a mid-week two-for one lift ticket from Jan. 7 through the end of the season.
The other cool thing about this expo is that you can bring some of your old ski equipment to sell, with a fee charged only if your item is sold. Beats eBay! There will also be representatives on hand from many of the top ski resorts around the country, such as June Mountain, Kirkwood Resort, Jackson Hole, Park City and Breckenridge, where you might find some money-saving offers and packages.
The Expo will be held in the South Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center, which is located at 1201 S. Figueroa St. Parking, I believe is about $20 to $25 per car.
