Do you love trains? Do you love "Top 10 Lists?"

Then I must share Sherman's Travel "Top Ten Terrific Train Trips" list with you. Sherman's Travel has come up with their top train trips list and California's Napa Valley Wine Train made the cut. Don't know if I've written about it for this blog, but, if I didn't I soon will. I know I've written about it for one of my California Weddings blog. Anyway, here's the list:

The Bergen Line, Norway
The Blue Train, South Africa
Denali Star Train, Alaska
Eastern & Orient Express, Southeast Asia
The Ghan, Australia
The Golden Eagle Trans-Siberian Express, Russia
Hiram Bingham Train, Peru
Napa Valley Wine Train, California
TER Méditerranée, France
Tokaido Shinkansen, Japan

You'll see that the Denali Star Train also made the cut. Denali is one of the best reasons to take a trek to Alaska, along with the Kenai Peninsula. If you do plan on taking an Alaska cruise sometime in the near future, you owe it to yourself to take a few days before or after the cruise to enjoy Denali National Park, north of Anchorage.

The Ghan in Australia looks really appealing, too. It's an 1850-mile, two-night train ride which takes you from wine country to awesome gorges and rock formations to topical coastline.

Though not on the list, I would add the Pikes Peak Cog Railway in colorado and the Grand Canyon Railway in Arizona as another couple U.S. favorites. I did write about the Pikes Peak Cog Railway on this blog, when I included their Christmas special.  You can read it at Pikes Peak Cog Railway
