Free Dance Party in San Francisco
Visiting San Francisco and want to do something fun for free? Why not try "Lindy in the Park?" Lindy in the Park is free outdoor swing dancing every Sunday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM (weather permitting, of course) in Golden Gate Park on John F. Kennedy Drive, between 8th and 10th Avenue.
The dancing is open to "hoppers" of all ages and skill levels, meaning you can go and learn to dance as well. And, yes, even tourists are welcome. Who knows, maybe you'll meet a new friend or two, or maybe someone from your own hometown.
Lindy in the Park has been held since August of 1996, when it was started by Chad Kubo and Ken Watanabe.
Of course, if the weather is horrible, the dancing is off, so do be sure to go to www.lindyinthepark.com to make sure the dance is on for the upcoming Sunday.
